Roompot and Landal GreenParks strengthens its Executive Team

Netherlands, 16 May 2024 – The Executive Team at Roompot and Landal GreenParks is being strengthened with Mikael Andersson taking over the helm as CEO. The holiday provider’s Executive Team is also being complemented by three new board members, all with international experience.

Mikael Andersson expresses delight in his appointment as CEO of Roompot and Landal GreenParks, as this sector is dear to his heart. To attain the international growth targets and accelerate the pathway to a single organisation, a strong and internationally-oriented Executive Team is pivotal. He shares his pleasure that the key roles within the Executive Team are being filled by a cohort of professionals of an exceptionally high calibre. The ambition is to be at the undisputed European vanguard of holidays in the nature.

Mikael Andersson (54 years old) brings to the table extensive and unrivalled experience garnered at successful international leisure companies within Europe, such as in the role of CCO at Roompot and Landal GreenParks. Before that he worked for NH Hotels in Madrid and Expedia in London. Within these roles he successfully dovetailed hospitality with digitisation and unified large international teams.

Mikael Andersson’s newly-vacated role of Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) in the Executive Team shall, as of 1 August 2024, be filled by Tjalling Smit (47 years old). Further to his current role as CCO at Nederlandse Spoorwegen and prior to that, various commercial director positions at Transavia and Air France-KLM airlines, Tjalling Smit brings extensive international experience, plus specialised know-how of digital products, revenue management and marketing. With the commercial expertise he gained at these renowned international companies within the travel sector, Tjalling Smit will certainly be an absolute credit to the Executive Team.

As of 1 June, Carla Milovanov shall fill the role of Chief Information Officer (CIO). Her focus shall initially rest on the integration and harmonisation of Roompot and Landal GreenParks’ digital systems. Carla Milovanov acquired many years of international experience within the travel and hospitality sectors, primarily within the hotel business. She led the global hotel and client technology teams at Accor, with a focus on the integration of over 30 brands within a single technology stack and transforming the experiences of both guests and personnel.

Bastiaan Haks (46 years old) will succeed Coen van der Wel as Chief Financial Officer (CFO). At the start of this year Coen announced his wish to move on. Bastiaan has garnered vast experience in corporate finance, including in the role as CFO of divisions at the international, data-driven company Unilever. He is highly experienced in investment company, merger and takeover projects, and has been at the helm of complex finance system migrations. Bastiaan will start on 1 June 2024.

Jeroen Mol will be stepping down as Chief Operations Officer (COO) on the grounds of medical reasons. He has opted instead to follow a different career path further down the line. We expect to be able to announce a new successor to Jeroen soon, with a focus on hospitality and placing guests at the parks centre-stage.

The Executive Team furthermore comprises Chief Development Officer (CDO) Belinde Bakker and Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) Alrik Boonstra. The Board of Directors at Roompot and Landal GreenParks is in no doubt that this cast-iron team will realise the organisation’s ambition to be at the undisputed European vanguard of holidays in nature. As chairperson of the Board of Directors, Dirk Anbeek shall continue to work closely with Mikael Andersson and the team.
